Associate DVM
Marybeth Rymer
Dr. Rymer was pleased to join our staff in June of 2018 and Civic Feline Clinic is privileged to have her. Since graduation from veterinary school at the University of California, Davis, she has practiced continuously in the East Bay with a primary interest in feline medicine. She is now happy to indulge that interest exclusively.
Spending her summers as a young girl on her grandparent’s farm naming, training, and treating over 20 barn cats, taught her that veterinary medicine was her calling. After an extensive career, Dr. Rymer continues to appreciate the feline personality, calmly accommodating their needs while minimizing their fear and anxiety. Within a feline-only practice, she has a special interest in internal medicine and dentistry.
She is a 14-year veteran of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and a devout advocate of Cat-Friendly Practicing. She also holds certification in Fear-Free handling techniques and medical practices. Among her other professional affiliations are membership in the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and lifetime membership in our local Contra Costa Veterinary Association.
Her time away from Civic Feline Clinic is spent with her husband and two very independent Abyssinians. Her personal interests are many and varied and include triathlons, hiking, bird-watching, and watercolor painting.
