Dr. Smith joined Civic Feline Clinic in 2016 after graduating from the University of California, Davis veterinary school in 2010 and completing a rotating internship at VCA Encina in Walnut Creek in 2011. She also completed a Masters in immunology and virology at UC Davis in 2006. She loves the unique personalities and quirks of our feline friends and appreciates that they do not bark, drool or jump on her during examinations.  Working here at the hospital is fulfilling because of the close sense of family we share as well as the opportunity to practice high quality medicine every day. She has a particular passion for surgery and diagnostic ultrasound.

Dr. Smith’s veterinary aspirations began early: her very first word was “kitty” making it fairly certain she was destined for a career in feline medicine.  She chose her academic path to veterinary school at age 10.

In her free time, she enjoys gardening and making unique beaded jewelry. She is vastly outnumbered by her family of eight feline companions, four of whom were kittens she bottle fed and raised from infancy.
