worked at CFC for 3 years as a Veterinary Assistant before moving to Colorado.  While in Fort Collins, she worked in a large veterinary practice as the staff manager along with nursing duties. Renee missed the great weather here in California and her friends and family and returned to CFC in March 2008.  She is currently our Head Technician and is pursuing a degree in Management.  She has a few cats, 3 dogs (big ones) and enjoys horseback riding.

is a wonderful technician and was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. She has lived in California since 1981 and loves cats most of all.  She has been a veterinary technician since 1983 and has found that working with cats at the Civic Feline Clinic nourishes her soul.  “She is one of our longest employees and can second guess us as to what needs to be done. She is proudly owned by a Siamese, a Javanese and a Domestic Shorthair named Ittles.  She nursed Ittles through a terrible ordeal as a kitten when he was bitten in the face by a raccoon.  Thus his charming looks.

is part of the high-energy front office team. She was born and raised in Concord and was employed in the Title and Escrow business until the market did the big mortgage flop. Kim was a loyal client of Civic Feline Clinic and when an opening came up she jumped on it. Kim has only one cat named Kitty Boy (but the staff and doctors are working on her to increase her “herd”). She enjoys gardening, reading and jazzercise when not having fun at the front desk.

works with the nursing staff. She has been a veterinary technician at other local hospitals and we are pleased to have her at Civic Feline Clinic. She was born in Martinez and has lived there her whole life (so far). She was a 4H kid and showed pigs and horses. She has been riding since she was 2 years old. She is the “momma” of 2 cats (we’re working on that) 3 dogs (yes dogs), a horse and a pony. She will be invaluable if we expand our species list at CFC. She is also studying to take the RVT test.

enjoys working the front desk part time. She is a 2nd generation Californian with a degree in Experimental Psychology from Hayward State (she may try to analyze you and your cat but it will be painless and complimentary). Valerie has lived in Walnut Creek for 29 years. She is married and has a stepson. She worked in accounting and book keeping until 1980 then worked as a software engineer. She is a client of CFC since 1995 and started work for the clinic in June of 2007. She loves being around lots of cats and cat people. At last count she had 8 cats so we are cutting her off until she gets a bigger house or shares with Kim.

is another of our great hard-working receptionists. She lives in Walnut Creek with Danny and their son Patrick and has a cat named Buddha.  Angela enjoys reading, stitchery, painting and fostering newborn kittens  She has been with us for 7 years now.  Time does fly.

is also a  cat wrangler (technician). She was born in San Francisco and moved to Concord in 1995. She started her work experience in a large pet store but wanted to be involved in health care of the animals. She has been a veterinary technician for 4 years and she likes the odd combination of cats and reptiles (like Dr. Thompson). She has an orange cat (Hobbes) and a uromastix lizard. Marie likes to snowboard and crochet blankets for her cat and sews cat mats for the clinic.  She loves small wriggly animals of all kinds.

is another of our great hard-working receptionists.  She came from a background in the financial industry with only a love of cats as her experience.  Katie is a client of CFC since 1986 when she came to us with her first cat Walter. Being able to bestow love upon the kitties is the best perk of working at the Civic Feline Clinic.  Katie loves the kitty patients and borders -- just as much as she loves her own 9+ cats and her husband

is our dedicated  animal care person. Teri was born in Hayward, CA and after working with forklifts in warehouse work, learned about a job caring for cats at Civic Feline Clinic in 1998. She enjoys her job very much and puts her heart into it. She enjoys woodwork and many other handy hobbies and can fix just about anything around the clinic.

Bobby 1995-2009 Rest in peace our beloved house-cat and Spokes-cat for the Mewsletter.  We will always love and remember your sweet face and good nature.

Duke has been hanging around since 2004 and has been elected the new spokescat in a close race against Johnny.  He accepts his new pawsition and hopes to be an inspiring leader (and get more treats! and cat nip.)  You can visit his highness in the lobby daily.

Molly also has been in the clinic since 2004.  She was adopted from Martinez Animal Shelter as a backup for Duke.  She loves to eat and follow people into the bathroom.

Shelby was saved from certain death by Dr. Mel Ellis who diagnosed her with a rare genetic form of Rickets.  A severe calcium deficiency.  Can be seen around the clinic beating up the bigger cats.

Johnny is our last adoptee (we have to stop or we won't have room for our patients).  He is the youngest,  born about 2007 and is a great lap sitter, purr monster and all around glad paw of the waiting room
