It is important to detect health problems as early as possible. We recommend annual exams for cats under 10 years and more frequently for the elderly cats.
One of the most effective ways of protecting your cat’s health is to provide immunization against common and sometimes deadly diseases. We select the most appropriate combination of well-tested vaccines specifically tailored to your cat's lifestyle.
Examinations prior to induction, constant evaluation with a heart monitor and safe anesthetics  assist us to prevent potential problems during anesthetic procedures.  We recommend pre-anesthetic blood work prior to surgical or dental procedures.
Spay, neuter, wound repair and soft tissue surgeries are routinely available at Civic Feline Clinic. We can also provide delicate surgery involving the gastrointestinal tract, bladder, and many forms of cancer. Complicated procedures are referred to local board certified surgeons.
Oral health is very important to your cat’s health and comfort. We recommend annual examinations and preventative oral care (see our Products page). Our services include: professional dental cleaning (ultrasonic scaling) and polishing, oral surgery, and dental radiographs to evaluate teeth prior to extractions.

We recently upgraded our in-house blood chemistry equipment to obtain faster and more accurate serum chemistry and hematology. Other available in-house diagnostics include: urinalysis, viral testing, thyroid hormone and glucose values. For more extensive lab work and pathology we utilize outside veterinary lab resources.

Radiographs assist us with diagnosis of bone diseases, trauma, arthritis, soft tissue disease, gastrointestinal problems, and lung or heart disease. An in-depth look of the abdomen is achieved with our new Ultrasound machine. For more complicated cases we call Dr. Mark Matteucci, a board certified radiologist, to come to our practice to ultrasound our patients.
